HealthSouth Securities Litigation: Judge Approves $445 Million Partial Settlement

On January 11, 2007, Judge Bowdre approved a $445 Million partial settlement on behalf of investors who purchased or acquired HealthSouth stock or bonds between April 24, 1997 and March 18, 2003.  Schatz Nobel Izard is Special Counsel for a sub-class of plaintiffs.

On July 16, 2009, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit upheld the District Court's decision not to allow a late-filed opt-out petition, removing one obstacle to distribution of the partial settlement fund.  However, the Court still must resolve challenges filed on behalf of certain claimants before the fund can be distributed.
